An Ontario Municipal application has been made to change the zoning of 8100 Bathurst Street by Chabad Lubavitch of Southern Ontario. The proposed development contemplates a 12-storey residential apartment building as an addition to the existing synagogue on the subject property. The proposal will provide for 125 rental units with the additional institutional space incorporated on the first, second and third storeys.
The existing zone does not permit a 12-storey apartment building as such a zoning by-law amendment is required.
The proposed development contemplates a 12-storey residential addition to the existing synagogue. The existing Low Rise Residential designation permits a maximum height of 2 storeys and does not allow for institutional uses. An Official Plan Amendment is required.
